In horsemanship, accuracy comes first, and then speed. If you can’t be accurate, you have no business going fast.

In this horsemanship clinic, we’re going to talk about the theories and ideas behind the class and what it takes to win at a high level. This class is one of my personal favorites, I love a horse and rider combination that makes it look effortless and actually rides through the pattern, there’s nothing worse to me than someone that sits perched through the class and focuses more on looking pretty than guiding their horse. I think what people need to remember the most about the class is that what is scored is the actual maneuvers being performed, not so much about where your free arm is through the maneuver. If you’re close, in the vicinity of where you’re supposed to be, you’re going to be just fine and we consider that each rider’s personal “style”.
